Getting Started
1. Install
Section titled “1. Install”Homebrew (recommended)
brew tap builtby-win/back2vibingbrew install --cask back2vibingOr download the latest macOS build. Older builds are on the downloads page.
2. Choose a setup path
Section titled “2. Choose a setup path”Set up with your coding agent
Section titled “Set up with your coding agent”- Copy the setup skill.
- Paste it into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or another coding agent.
- Run the skill and follow its prompts. It walks you through installing, activating, and configuring back2vibing.
Use the interactive setup in the app
Section titled “Use the interactive setup in the app”Open back2vibing and follow the interactive setup:
- Choose Start free to begin the 14-day Pro trial — no key and no account. If you already bought a license, enter it instead.
- Grant Accessibility access. back2vibing needs it to return to the correct window, terminal tab, or pane.
- If the interactive first-session lab appears, leave it open and start Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode when prompted. The lab confirms that events can reach the app.
- Complete setup.
If macOS does not show the permission prompt, open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility, enable back2vibing, and relaunch the app.
The first-session lab is part of Pro and trial setup. It is normal for other setups to skip it.
3. Run one real session
Section titled “3. Run one real session”- Open a new terminal or a supported desktop app.
- Start a supported agent normally and give it a short task.
- Switch to another app while it runs.
- Wait for the agent to finish.
Setup is working when back2vibing applies your selected focus behavior and the session appears in Sessions or the Session Dock.
If nothing happens
Section titled “If nothing happens”Skip the Session Lab if it does not produce a session. Then open Agents in back2vibing. The agent should show Active, not Needs setup. Repair the installation there, start a new agent session, and retry.
Then see Troubleshooting if the event still does not arrive.
