Install

Use either option below.

Option 1: Homebrew (recommended)

brew tap builtby-win/back2vibing https://github.com/builtby-win/back2vibing
brew install --cask back2vibing

First Launch: Setup Wizard

When you open back2vibing for the first time, it walks you through the in-app Setup Wizard.

1. Accessibility Access: Allow accessibility so back2vibing can detect completion events and focus the right app/window.
2. Agent Detection: Review detected agents and keep the ones you want enabled.
3. Default Settings: Pick the app to focus when an agent is done and pick your notification sound.
4. Focus Strategy (Pro/Trial path): Choose how focus should be restored when agents finish.
5. CLI Setup (Pro/Trial path): back2vibing installs b2v automatically in the background.
6. Completion: Finish setup and open your dashboard.

Focus Strategy Options

Autofocus

Focuses immediately when your agent finishes (with busy detection to avoid interrupting active typing).

Interactive

Shows a prompt before focusing so you decide exactly when to switch.

Smart-O (Recommended)

Autofocuses on your current Space and uses interactive prompts when a Space switch would be disruptive.

macOS Notification

Uses native macOS notifications. It does not autofocus unless you click the notification.

Verify It Works

After setup, start one agent (claude, gemini, or opencode) and confirm:

• Completion alert appears.
• back2vibing restores focus using your selected strategy.
• Session shows up in the Sessions tab.
